An SOP course is ready when it is accurate, usable, controlled, and observable. Use this checklist before assigning a new procedure to employees.
Source accuracy
- Confirm every threshold, deadline, role, and exception against the approved SOP.
- Keep stop conditions beside the normal path they modify.
- Make each correct answer traceable to a source rule.
- Remove examples that introduce policy not present in the source.
Learner readiness
- Explain the outcome before testing recall.
- Use scenarios for judgment, ordering for sequence, and matching for ownership.
- Give feedback that explains why an answer succeeds or fails.
- Preview every lesson at desktop and mobile widths.
Release control
- Keep the course private until the process owner approves it.
- Confirm that only assigned learners can open the published course.
- Name the administrator responsible for future source changes.
- Record the SOP version used to build the course.
Completion evidence
- Assign the course to a defined audience.
- Communicate the completion expectation outside the course when a deadline matters.
- Review lesson-level progress, not only enrollment.
- Pair completion with observation or supervised practice when the procedure is high risk.
Completion proves that someone ran through the course. It does not, by itself, prove real-world competence. Treat it as one layer in the operating control.
